In order to track conversions on the website and assign them to your Facebook advertising campaigns, you need a Facebook Pixel. This is a code snippet that is generated on Facebook and then embedded on the advertiser’s website.
Important: Before you can get started, you must have a Business Manager and be an administrator of the same. If this is the case, follow the steps below.
How to create the Facebook Pixel
First, go to the overview of your Business Manager accounts and select the desired Business Manager. In the menu item “Pixel” (accessible by clicking on “Business Manager” in the upper left corner) you can create a new pixel. To do so, open the drop-down menu “Add new data source group” in the left column and select the menu item “Facebook Pixel”.
Embedding the Facebook Pixel on your website
In order for the Facebook Pixel to do its job, it must now be integrated into your website. There are three possibilities:
You embed the Facebook Pixel on your website using the code itself.
You use a tag manager (such as Google Tag Manager) and insert the Facebook Pixel there.
